Opening Words    (view on a separate page)
Author: Alexander Aldarow    (all articles by this author)

My dearest friends!

Tonight I'll attempt to be as brief as possible, as people who have better way with words than yours truly are anxious to share their wisdom through the articles. I have only two messages to deliver, and the first one is foremost important, at least for myself. Our regular circle of Project X members have decided that the time has come to move the entire Project to a higher level. I felt an urge for a purpose, a desire for a direction. As of now, nonetheless, the whole idea is merely undergoing the mental birth labour, but I will appreciate any kind of input or advise that anyone who reads these lines can have.

The second message is the results of the poll we had on Project X Website.

Q: Your dreams are:
(of 47 respondents)

6% - random fantasies
6% - reflections of daily life
9% - messages from the subconscious
11% - spiritual / paranormal experiences
26% - some of the above, or a combination
43% - all of the above

Project X is deeply grateful for your input.

Part Two
"What You See Is What You Become"

"Your Inner Mirror"

You are familiar with the term "self image". We generally apply the term toward one's thoughts and concepts regarding themselves.
We have within our psyche an actual inner-mirror upon which we project to our subconscious mind the picture of ourselves as we so imagine ourselves to be. And, the subconscious mind responds by bringing that image into physical reality.
The language of the subconscious mind is visual imagery. We receive messages from the deeper parts of our mind via dream images. We often assume that that communication is a one-way process; coming only to our waking self from our memories of our sleeping state. The fact is that - like any other conscious entity - our subconscious is hoping for a dialogue. We can begin a two-way communication through the process known as Creative Visualization.
For some, "CV" is an effortless, second-nature talent. For others, however, successful visualization requires patience and practice.
WHAT DISTINGUISHES CREATIVE VISUALIZATION FROM THE NORMAL PROCESS OF MENTAL IMAGERY IS THAT IT CONNECTS THE WILL OF THE CONSCIOUS SELF WITH THE CREATIVE FORCE OF THE UNIVERSE BY MEANS OF PICTORIAL PROJECTION.
It's much like a motion picture image projected on a white screen, except that a creative image "passes through" the mental image screen to take form in the physical world.
Most of us send out mental images without realizing that we are forming the experience of our reality. Many of us have been trained to allow the mind to shoot out "holographic" projections without giving it a second thought.
We have to remain aware that the thoughts we send out into the cosmos will take form - to a greater or lesser degree - to create exactly what we imagine (for better or worse).
From this awareness, we can train ourselves to use the creative power of mental imagery to bring about the bodies and greater life experience that we really want.
The Creative Visualization process spans the full distance from the level of cellular consciousness to the core of The Universe itself. We reside at the center of the process, and can take control of its manifestations.

Here are some methods to better utilize this creative process for healing and self-betterment.

CREATIVE VISUALIZATION TECHNIQUES

1.) Theater In The Mind.
We are all familiar with the experience of going to a cinema theater. There is a certain level of excited anticipation as we sit in the auditorium and wait for the show to begin. We are filled with confidence that the event will be pleasant and produce the desired experience.
As we utilize the CV process, the theater motif is an excellent framework upon which to create and project the images that we want to have manifest in both our bodies, and in all facets of our lives.

It is always best to find a time and place where you have a reasonable chance to remain undisturbed while you work in your mental workshop. As much as possible, it is also very helpful to have a consistent time of day to work, so that your conscious - subconscious dialogue can begin to habitually and automatically go in to gear. If you have a favorite or most comfortable chair, you may want to designate it as your "theater seat".
Dress as comfortably as possible to allow the most open flow of your full body energies.
The more predictable and ritualistic your daily program, the better.
THE SUBCONSCIOUS MIND RESPONDS BEST TO ROUTINE AND STEP-BY-STEP "RELIGIOUS" PROGRAMMING.
Close your eyes, and imagine yourself sitting in the front row of a beautiful theater. Allow the blank white screen to fill all of your inner-vision. It's best to begin with a blank screen because you can always automatically refer back to it just in case you visualize something that you would rather cancel from your creative program.
Most progressions into altered states begin with some kind of count-down, designed to bring the deepest level of relaxation. I'm sure you have seen the 10-to-1 count-down prior to the actual projection of some older, usually black and white films. You may want to envision this as you begin your visualizations on your mental screen.
It is a matter of safe common sense to precede the actual visualization with an affirmation of intent. You may want to say or envision on the screen, IN DIVINE ORDER AND PERFECT TIMING. FOR THE GOOD OF ALL CONCERNED (or any such statement with which you feel comfortable). This is done to direct the creative energies to follow such a simple directive so as not to manifest anything that would intrude upon the free will of another. For the most powerful results, you will want to imagine as many of your senses as possible engaged along with the visualization, (sight, sound, touch, taste, and smell) to convince your subconscious that the events and images being projected are a part of 3-Dimensional reality. And the more convincing the "show", the more thoroughly and quickly the manifestation will take form in your life.
You can begin your "movie" with temporal cues that will give your subconscious a time reference for bring the events into reality. (A circled calendar date or a particular setting on a clock, etc.)
AS THE CREATIVE VISUALIZATION PROCEEDS ON YOUR INNER SCREEN, IMAGINE THAT YOU ARE GRADUALLY BEING BROUGHT IN TO THE ACTION, AND ALLOW THE IMAGES AND EXPERIENCES TO TAKE ON MORE AND MORE OF A 3-D QUALITY.
Once you feel satisfied that your desire has been adequately presented, allow yourself to take a few comfortable steps back out of the scene and seal the visualization with an affirmation of fulfillment and assurance that the events seen will now be brought to physical manifestation. You may want to say or visualize upon the screen, something to the effect, "AND SO IT IS".
In matters of health, visualizations work well with something as simple as seeing your own image reflected back to you from a mirror, with a clear image that says that your physical condition has been fully recreated to perfect health. If you accept only THE BEST of all possible images, you will receive the best and most satisfying results.
Be patient and practice this technique until you receive the desired results. Faith is not so much an element in this process as is a talent for imagination. If you can see and feel it, you will have it.

Enlightened and Spiritual    (view on a separate page) (more articles about guidance)
Author: Moi    (all articles by this author)

I have a question... What do the words Enlightened and Spiritual mean? I don't know... but I have some opinions... what they mean. Would be interesting to hear other persons thinking on this :) To me the words mean... to be able to feel/sense other spirits. Both a person's spirit and spirits without physical bodies.

Some people are talking about spiritual war... and I wonder... how will they know who to fight? Who is "Good" and who is "Evil"? Do "Evil" spirits have signs on them... saying?: "Hi, watch me... I am an "Evil" one!" I don't think so :) Do all "Evil" spirits show themselves by how they look on the outside? Are all "Evil" spirits ugly with black clothes and perhaps horns and tails? Do they make an appointment with you for hurting or killing you? Do they say: "Can you stand still for a bit? I am going to kill you?" I don't think so :) I believe many look and act exactly as people in flesh here on earth... Would an "Evil" person be so daft that he/she would not hide his/her intentions?

If I for instance... had plans I didn't want anyone to know about... rob a bank... steal... hurt or kill... I would certainly NOT tell anyone about my plans! I wouldn't have to be ugly, wearing special ugly outfits, acting or talking in a way that revealed my bad intentions to others. In the way I speak I would pretend to be good!!!

And I believe it is the same behavior among people in flesh and "Evil" spirits.

But that would be awful and perhaps scary... How would we know who is "Good" and who is "Evil"? To me the answer is: to feel/sense the spirit whether he/she is "Good" or "Evil". And the same goes for people in flesh.

That is what the words ENLIGHTENED AND SPIRITUAL means to me :) I am looking forward to hearing other peoples view on the words.

Your Life As A Mystery School    (view on a separate page) (more articles about guidance)
Author: Asoka Selvarajah    (all articles by this author)

Mystery schools once existed throughout the Ancient World - Greece, Egypt, India, China, South America. These spiritual centres provided a place where students could receive a mystical education by progressing through a series of spiritual trials and initiations. The goal was to provide seekers with the highest levels of spiritual realization - to understand the deep truths of existence, the cosmos and human life. Initiates of the Mysteries were credited with wisdom, as well as great magical and occult powers.

The main method of teaching the Mysteries was through myths - stories with deep mystical and psychological symbolism; for example, the Greek and Roman Myths. In reality, these stories possessed two different levels. On the mundane level, the myths could be seen as simple entertaining tales with light moral undertones. For most people, this is how they would be received. These were the Outer Mysteries.

However, for those with eyes to see and ears to hear, there existed the Inner Mysteries.

Students of the Outer Mysteries would be carefully observed. Some would show signs of recognition - a clear ability to see beyond the superficial level of the stories to the more profound meaning. These few would then be selected for further initiation into the Inner Mysteries. They would serve under the tutorship of the Master (Hierophant) of the Mystery School and be taken to ever deeper levels of spiritual unfoldment.

The teachings were hard. The initiation ceremonies were dramatic and frightening - seemingly life and death situations where the student was exposed to his deepest fears and temptations. Perhaps the mythological stories would be enacted in the depths of a dark cave to the sound of loud gongs and frightening flashes of light. Frankly, nobody really knows. Initiates were sworn to strictest secrecy, even unto death, and these matters were never written down.

Thanks largely to the efforts of organized mainstream religion throughout history and the world, the Mystery Schools have mostly vanished on the physical plane. However, they still exist on the spiritual level. More excitingly, they can come alive right now for YOU in a personal way - through a profound study of your own unfolding life.

Prior to your birth, imagine that the spiritual part of you - known as the Higher Self - made some decisions. It determined precisely the lessons and experiences you needed to undergo in order to learn, grow and perfect yourself in all ways. It then chose exactly the right parents, and the right time and place for you to be born. Ever since your birth, it has been orchestrating ALL the events and people in your life to perfectly present you with all the challenges and lessons you most need in order to develop yourself. From this perspective, nothing happens in your life by chance. Everything has meaning. There are NO accidents.

What is the goal of all this? What is the purpose of your life from this perspective? It is no less than to become a Spiritual Master over as many lifetimes as it takes!

THIS is the perspective of your life as a Mystery Story. The Master Teacher of the Mysteries is your Higher Self. Through the trials of ordinary life, - through perceiving the mythic dimensions of it - you are presented with the lessons you most need to learn in order to perfect yourself in all ways.

It is a theory which cannot be definitively proven. However, as the great mystical teacher, Paul Solomon, once said, life works far better and makes more sense if we assume it is true, even if it is not!

The Mystery School perspective is very similar to the way in which we regard dreams. Modern Psychology postulates that every person, object and situation in our dreams has deep symbolic meaning. They are created by a part of our mind that understands and thinks only in symbols. The challenge is for our waking consciousness to then make sense of all these meaningful symbols.

This is EXACTLY the same situation that is presented with our waking lives from the Mystery School perspective. In a sense, as long as we participate in life unawares, we are still asleep. As soon as we realize and actively participate in the Mystery School lessons of our lives, the sleeper awakens to progressively greater levels of awareness.

If your life is a Mystery School, everything that happens to you is by design. There are NO accidents. Every person who enters your life, every situation whether joyous or tragic, every challenge you face, is there for a specific reason. From this viewpoint, you have to stop blaming your parents all the time for the way you turned out. After all, you chose them!

Like King Arthur, Perseus, or Odysseus, you are the hero of your own personal Mystery Mythology. The events and characters in your life are the colorful fabrics of which your story is woven.

People and circumstances that you perceive to be enemies and trials are in fact your greatest teachers. In the Mysteries, the initiators could appear to the student as demons or monsters - evil forces that had to be overcome before any further progress was even possible. These were in truth archetypal forces within the pupil's own psyche that needed to be wrestled with and brought under control before any further progress could be made.

Yet, once the lesson had been learned and the demon overcome, it revealed its true form - as an angel of light. As the Dalai Lama once said, we need to be grateful to people who mean us harm, for it is only through conflict that we can grow. From a Buddhist perspective, there is even more need for gratitude to enemies: they are actively harming themselves, incurring massive negative karma, specifically to benefit you! And they don't even know it!

How does this apply practically? Well, have you noticed that certain scenarios - work difficulties, relationship problems or whatever - keep cropping up again and again for you? The reason is that if you refuse to learn a lesson, it will simply repeat again later until you do. Please don't think that you can go on to the advanced lessons until you have mastered the simple ones.

It will not happen.

Wherever you go in all the world to escape a lesson, you take yourself with you! Thus, you can be sure that your Higher Self will simply orchestrate events to present the exact same lesson/challenge until you finally get the message.

Moreover, remember this. The Higher Self regards your body as perfectly expendable! After all, if you refuse to learn the lesson in this life, it can simply provide you with a new one and the same lesson can start over where it left off!

In summary, viewing your life as a Mystery School is immensely beneficial. It provides you with a powerful spiritual perspective. It makes sense and meaning out of all that happens to you, enormously increases your chances for growth, and helps you work towards a firm purpose that transcends yourself. The goal of becoming a Spiritual Master.

Look Well Before Leaping!    (view on a separate page) (more articles about guidance)
Author: Doug Lewis    (all articles by this author)

Reference: "Brain Wave Diary" (10/24/00)

Science and technology, my, how those words stirred the blood in younger days, every new day bought forth another scientific marvel or technological miracle. "Soon", we were told, science and technology would unburden us from common toil. Sickness would be a distant memory and even death might soon be avoided. "Soon", we would surely languish, (as we should), in blissful state-reaping the rewards of progress, denizens of a new and vastly improved utopia.

How seductive is THAT carrot?

Well, it is fifty years later now and I have taken to wondering about the promises of science and technology. Perhaps my expectations were set far to grandly, or perhaps I have glimpsed the reality of science and technology wrought progress. Don't get me wrong though, thousands of innovations are brilliant, showcasing human perspicacity. A veritable dearth of innovation, discovery and invention swamps our very senses, beguiles imagination and dazzles the most jaded eyes.

So, what's the beef then?

Oh, it's not that my gratification for plastics, PCB's, DDT or atomic reaction and such is in question, certainly each step of progress was a "miracle of the minute" and doubtless lifted humanity one notch in the direction of the impossible dream.

It is just that I now have misgivings, very grave misgivings.

Fifty years ago I could drink the clear babbling brook water, eat the fish we caught and languish in the noonday sun with impunity. (This seems closer to the utopian goal before science and technology)

Today, my children cannot.

The word "progress" smacks of improvement, betterment, enhancement and upgrade. Science and technology promise progress, I have even seen it said, "Science is progress".

Why then, such obvious signs of regression and not progress? Why then glaring evidence of retrograde, diminished ecology, specie extinction measured in so many per week, progress related ailments, byproduct deaths and bio-destruction?

It now seems to me that science is off the mandate, no longer seeking the promised paradise, methinks science is engaged in fixing last years science. Escalating wildly, today's science and corresponding industry are engaged in remedial endeavors, fixing aftermath from previous, aberrational science. Like a sliding automobile, swinging ever more widely as corrective steering is applied. An endless loop of ever multiplying experiments, compounding error as it flies. Spawning more and more salvage industries to nullify old science. How many companies would there be in paradise and for what good purpose?

But wait, is it science and technology or is it I - accepting, believing and buying?

It is all perfectly safe the day of product launch - we pay to have this so. (It says so in the tiny print)! Big print is used to sell.

Why wouldn't I buy?

But wait, who will find water in outer space when our water is ruined? Who will put oxygen back into our debilitated air? Who will perform miraculous operations on fetus in the womb, correcting toxin-induced deformities? Who will develop anti bodies for disease we have yet to unleash? Who will find us a bubble city in wasted lands or space? Who will resurrect extinctions using pickled DNA and surrogate parents of another kind? Who will clone another me, when this one explodes from scientific progress? Who will transplant animals to eradicate other animals that were transported errantly to foreign environments by science? Who will ad infinitum? Who indeed?

Why, science of course for it is progress and can make muck from gold.

In reflection, I would have been happy if science had stopped at sliced bread!

How about you?

My Favorite Place    (view on a separate page) (more articles about literature)
Author: Soulight    (all articles by this author)

Where is my favorite place? It's anywhere

On the biggest streets, where the noise of the cars
is so loud that you are drifted so far.
Or in the silent desert, where all is still,
that you can hear the wind whispering in your ear.

My favorite place is in my head.

Through the valley of thought, after the walls of hate.
Under the clouds of fear, behind the mirror of regret.
And right beside the waterfall of love and trust.
There lies a place I love the most.

"How does it looks?" you ask.
However I'll choose.

A sunny field of winter flowers,
or the snowy ground at the night hours.
It can be warm or cold, low or high,
though either way it's perfect for that time.

"What do you do there", I hear you wonder.

The most desirable things in the world,
I'm flying higher then a bird and don't get burnt.
I'm running faster than a car,
nothing is ever too far.
Climbing the highest hills.
Swimming the deepest seas.
But what I mostly like to do, is just relax,
sit comfortably besides a sea of glass.
And breathe so deep that I could taste the air,
it'll fill my body, so the love of the world I'll share.

Our world is a small ball filled with a crowd,
so I chose the smallest place, where it's never loud.
Where I'm not bothering a soul,
and not being bothered anymore.
I have my philosophic thoughts with me,
my deepest dreams I never tell a soul.
Sometimes a lover visits me,
(invented by me alone).

It sounds so strange at first, I know that too.
But don't judge me, like you don't want me to judge you.
If you will try a bit, it will be found.
no matter who you are, or on what ground.
It's sacred by no soul, and damned by none.
My favorite place is in my head, would you like to come?

1. My Six Legged Sweetheart

One warm evening in July, '99, I stopped for fuel at a station about a mile and a half from my home.
As I was pumping the gas, a huge, brown female preying mantis landed on the hose. She was nearly 7 inches long. Of course, I was intrigued. But my fascination turned to an eerie sense of concern as I watched the glare coming from her bulging eyes.
If you have ever had a close encounter with a preying mantis, then you can appreciate the fact that you know that THEY know what you're thinking. But I can't say that I was really thinking too much at that moment; just a little transfixed by her boldness and acrobatic stance as she straddled the black gas hose.
She then arched up slightly, raised her two front mandibles, and began rocking gently; side to side. Her motions were rhythmic and strangely alluring.
"Oh my God!" I thought, "She's doing her mating dance!"
And I was to be her chosen consort. (As well as dinner!). "Oh NO you don't!", I refused her advances, "I KNOW what you do to your boyfriends after sex!". "I'm not going to be your after-glow snack!", I joked out loud with her. (Not realizing that others were within ear-shot.) I gingerly replaced the hose to the pump - so as not to frighten or harm her. went in to pay for my gas and returned to the car. Then, there was no sign of her.
I was somewhat unnerved by the whole incident. (It's not every day that you're "come on to" by an insectoid carnivore.) As I drove home, the car was doing 35 to 45 mph. Certainly fast enough to dislodge any would-be hangers-on. So then, you tell ME how it was that I woke up the next morning to find the same mantis "parked" on my screen door!
She hadn't been in the car. I doubt that she could have withstood the wind pressure from the 1 1/2 mile, 40+ mph ride to my house. The only remaining explanation: She "found" me.
"Now what?", I wondered with considerable anxiety. Well, I'm more than pleased to be able to report that her intentions toward me were strictly platonic. As it turned out, she was profoundly pregnant. She set-up a nest in my storage garage (a locked, safe distance from my playfully curious cats).
In the more than a year since then, she has become a helpful roommate. She lets herself in to the house when I leave the window open, and is always "on the job" when I need a good exterminator. I live along side a creek, which means that my property is a treasure- trove of mosquitos and other water-based intruders.
She has also taken to gestures of affection such as landing on my shoulder and "dancing" for me.
I have a number of lingering questions, though.
Such as: Out of all of the people who must have stopped for gas at that station that night, why did she focus on me?
Could she have "known" that I had a perfect spot for her to have her young, along side of a bug-buffet water source? AND that I would be agreeable to having her around. And secondly: HOW IN THE HELL DID SHE FIND ME?
We're a match made in Heaven! And you should see all of the "young ones"! (Not of my loins.) My bug problem has lessened considerably since her arrival.
But you know, I still get that same eerie feeling - every so often - when she cocks her head and gives me "the look".
I can't help but think that (in a moment of passion) she would not be one to take "No" for an answer!

2. The Eyes Of "The Devil".

Have you ever had a pet who you felt was sent to you by way of Divine intervention?
That's how I always felt about my black Chow-Lab, Jedi.
He was lost and lonely one cold night and came up to me, stood upright, and put his paws on my shoulders. (That's when they've REALLY got ya!) He had obviously decided that I was going to take him in. All I could say was. "Get in the car!"
You've probably heard it thousands of time from thousands of dog owners, BUT - Jedi was...THE...BEST...DOG in the world! I named him "Jedi" because he was noble, strong, wise, cleaver, and PSYCHIC!
For example: We got in to the habit of my announcing. "Time for bed!" to signify to him that he should go to his mat in the back room. He would never go there without my cue. One night - after a few months of this ritual - I was very sleepy and thought, "Time for bed!". Jedi then, obediently, responded to my thought and went to his mat. ( "The Force is strong with this one!")
He was the best watch dog, ever! You could watch as he would pick-up on an approaching caller while they were still blocks away from the house. By the time they were finally at the door, he would have positioned himself to respond to their arrival and bark in response to their knock.
If he sensed danger, he would place himself in my way, making it impossible for me to get any closer to the source.
But one day, Jedi was gone. He hadn't been taken by Animal Control. He wasn't hanging out at the neighbors'. He was just gone. That was in the Summer of '97. I have grieved losing him as you might expect one would mourn over the loss of a dearest friend.
This past Summer, I was asleep on the couch when I heard a knock at the door. I got up and went to answer it. But "Jedi" was barking and doing his usual "get in the way" maneuver. I opened the door anyway and found myself "face to face" with a character who I can only describe as having the features of Darth Mal from Star Wars Episode 1.
It was about that time that I realized that I had stepped out of my body, and that the entity at my door was hoping to make his way in! I slammed the door, and promptly woke up from my altered state. As creepy as the face on the other side of the door was, my immediate thoughts centered on the fact that JEDI had been with me during the experience.
"Oh! He DIED!" "That's why I haven't seen him around!"
I was indescribably relieved to know that Jedi hadn't abandoned me! He had just "moved-up" in the cosmos. And wonderful too to know that he's still watching over me!
That was on the morning of Sept. 23, 2000, the day before the U.S. Grand Prix was to be run at The Indianapolis ( my home-town ) Motor Speedway. There were so many foreign visitors to the city that weekend that I took the opportunity to mingle with the "Euro" crowds downtown. It was quite a show, and a lot of fun.
Along the way downtown, I found myself drawn to an individual who was engaged in a manner of sidewalk procilitizing. He was a member of a group out of Denver who promotes the political ideals of Bob Enyon. (Ultra Right Wing and racial purists.) I felt my usual compulsion to challenge him as he was busily engaging people in political debates, but ( dog-gone it ) Jedi had energized in his spirit body right in front of me and wouldn't let me get close enough to the guy to let him know how moronic I found his political (and pseudo-religious) ideals.
So I stood listening, wanting to throw-in my two cents but not being allowed to get any closer. The man turned for just a moment and glared at me. I have seen photos of Jeffrey Dahmer, Charles Manson, and other notable serial killers with their "pools of darkness" behind the eyes. What I saw from this guy was the most sinister, cold, empty, evil, and PREDATORY gaze that I have ever encountered. And at that same moment, I could feel Jedi "hugging" me, as he would, with his paws on my shoulders, and his nose on my chin.
I took a deep breath and walked away. I have no doubt that if I had challenged that guy that the outcome would have been disastrous, possibly even fatal.
The man was clearly possessed by a powerful, truly "demonic" spirit. That was the message that was given to me that morning during my OBE. And Jedi was there to keep me safe through all of it.
NOW! Do you want to argue with me that Jedi is NOT...THE...BEST... DOG...IN...THE..WORLD?
This world....... or any other!

Mark Andrews
